restore of image says target to small

Beitrag von superfantastic » Fr 12. Jun 2015, 12:47

the problem i have is the image i have is an .omg file and it was an image of a drive that was a 1tb, the new drive is a 1tb, the image of the original 1tb drive had 100gb free so the total data is not 1tb, when i try and restore the image to new 1tb it says to small because the sector size is smaller on new drive against old, is their a way i can get this to restore to the new drive and make it bootable
the image is of a server 2008 system
i have included an image screen shot so i hope this makes sense better

thanks

Dear Superfantastic,

you can choose the file-based restoration method, it's slower but it should work. First you should remove all partitions on the target disk, then restore drive C: to the free space on the target disk. Confirm file-based in the further process.

See below:

Dear Superfantastic,

You don't need the pictures, just select as target not the entire hard disk but a region or volume where the data should be restored.
