Using version 1.7.1405 and loading a config-file (OOSU10.exe oosu10.cfg /quiet) the settings are still not saved. Tested on different computers with Windows 10 Pro and Home, 64 Bit, Version 1909.

The only way to get the settings saved is:

- Starting OOSU10.exe manually
- Loading recommended settings
- Changing some settings manually (as required)
- Closing OOSU10.exe

Loading the config-file manually will also not save the settings.

When loading recommended values then I am asked, if I want to generate a restore point.

When loading config-file, there is no question for system restore point. Settings are shown, but not saved, when closing the program.

Basically a good program, but I need the automatic configuration from config-file.

Many thanks for your efforts.

Same Problem here, with Windows 10 Enterprise x64 Version 1909.
The new O&O ShutUP Version 1.7.1405 works only manually, with script and "/quiet" switch
no Settings will be made.

If there is a chance to fix this bug we would be very grateful :)

Many thanks for your Work!

Andreas

Hello,

Today I also encountered this problem with version 1.7.1405.
Is a release date known?

Same issue here on many machines.
May we download and use the older version 1.6 from elsewhere?
Many thanks for your work!

With new Version 1.7.1406 we are one step ahead.

Loading a config-file manually will save the settings.

But running from script (OOSU10.exe oosu10.cfg /quiet) the settings are still not saved. Tested on different computers with Windows 10 Pro and Home, 64 Bit, Version 1909.

I really like this program, but running on each computer manually is just too much.

Reinhard

Hi there,

same problem here: works when loading config manually but not in "script-mode".

I´m using v1.7.1406 on Windows 10 Pro 1909

I hope this can be fixed soon because it is a great Tool (and I really need it).

Many thanks & best regards

Spent some time testing OOSU10 Version 1.7.1406 and found out:

Settings are not even loaded, wenn running OOSU10 in a script.

Was running OOSU10 without the /quiet switch (OOSU10.exe oosu10.cfg).

OOSU10 starts and says "No changes made" (or something similar).

Since OOSU10 stays opened, I could load the same configuration file manually.
In this case the result was as expected: "8 changes made".

Hope this helps in solving the problem.

Best regards

Reinhard

The same problem here with 1.7.1406 under Windows 10 Pro 1909
OOSU10.EXE oosu10.cfg /quiet
Hope the changes won't take 2 months again :-(

Thank you for the very quick implementation of the import error from the console.

The settings that I set on my computer are not being saved, even though I click "save". The next day, when I turn on the computer, the settings are not retained.

Yes - same here... Its the service "dmwappushservice" (WAP-Push...) which set "itself" from deactivated back to manual start after some time.
Did not yet found out why this happens.

Same here... also Win 10 64-bit 20H2 with all patches and newest OOShutup .
I think its not really a problem in OOShutup
I'am not quite shure, but i think this behavior started after the second last Patch-Day.

If I deactivate 'Telemetriedaten senden' in OOShutup and look after reboot again in OOShutup, its all fine.
But after a few windows updates, even only defender signatues, it switch back to activated.

I guess its a new behavior from windows update... ;-(

Hallo!

i observed the behavior a litte further.
It seems that telemetrie stays deactivated till the next reboot. (didn't test sleep mode)

Is there a way OOShutUp can prevent it?

Hallo,

Update the version to the latest and then try. I had the same problem but once I updated to the latest, All went fine. Wish you luck sir. Also, you can try restarting you PC, as sometimes Windows may have problem, and clear cache as well.
